Space news! Lots of amazing things are happening in the field right now. It’s the best time for a space fan since the Apollo era. The main leader of the new era is of course SpaceX.
The Everyday Astronaut
I had been following space news via Ars Technica for many years. But it was this YouTube channel that really made into a fan. Run by a ex-photographer named Tim Dodd. Simple to understand yet super-detailed long-form videos.
Recently he posted an amazing factory tour of Starbase, the home of the next generation fully reusable rocket Starship by SpaceX, with Elon Musk as the guide.
Scott Manley
Also an Youtuber. Talks about latest space news as well as trivia with a more technical approach. Also, plays with and uses space simulation games, mostly Kerbal Space Program, as demos for the explanations.
Elon Musk
The man of the hour. Elon Musk is an avid tweeter. Mostly memes but also a wealth of the most inside information from the Chief Engineer himself about SpaceX’s amazing rockets and future plans.
Casey Handmer’s Blog
A Physicist at NASA’s JPL Laboratory. He posts very detailed analysis about the space exploration and what it would take to achieve goals.
I would recommend starting with his blog series – Countering misconceptions in space journalism.
Highly informative and interesting! Keep posting.
